What Food to Eat to Burn the Most Calories!
This is called the “Thermic Effect” which is the amount of energy you use to digest, absorb, and eliminate the food you ingest. It’s like how much you pay to eat. One of the only times I am more than willing to pay for something :)
Types of Food & Energy Amounts Needed to Process
Fats have a thermic effect of about 3%
Fibrous vegetables and fruit have a thermic effect of about 20%
Proteins have a thermic effect of about 30%
In general, your body will use 10% of the calories you consume to process the foods you eat. So if you eat a 100 calorie snack, you’ll really only be consuming 90 cals as 10 went to digesting it. But if you took down a pure protein shake or 100 cal piece of chicken breast, you would only be consuming 70 cals as 30 went to digestion! Cool huh?
Just keep in mind that if you want to up your protein intake that you still stay within your daily caloric range for weight maintenance or loss. Don’t just eat more protein on top of what you’re already doing. Replace.
Now you can see why I love my protein and steamed veggies!

    it’s just, it’s like my favorite piece of thinsporation of all time. seriously.

    i have small boobs as it is, and so i guess that picture kind of resembles what i hope to look like one day : bigger boobs and a beautiful flat stomach. and she’s tall, too. tall with long, thin arms and legs, and beautiful collar bones.

    omg, it is possible to fall in love with a picture? lol.

    p.s. : i’ll only be on for a small amount of time tonight and probably tomorrow, because i’m actually on my family’s desktop computer, not my laptop. (my laptop is currently unuseable due to some very annoying problems with it. but it should be fixed in the next day or so.) i don’t want any of them to see my tumblr account open, or anything associated with this tumblr. i would die if one of them did.

  4. this post is going to make me sound like a total control freak but …

    so yesterday i went grocery shopping with my grandma (my mom’s sick and my step dad was at work).

    i had a very big, long, detailed list of all HEALTHY items i wanted to get.

    and i had a budget.

    seems like a very big job for a 14 year old. but i think i handled it pretty well, if i do say so myself.

    long story short, i found pretty much everything i had been looking for, and i stayed wayyy within budget, too.

    so mission accomplished!

    when i got home i put all the groceries away and organized the fridge and pantry at the same time.

    in the pantry, i made sure all the nutrition facts boxes were pointing out so that one glance into it and the rest of my family would know how many calories they are eating.

    some of the things i got inclued :

    • natural jif peanut butter (i looked all over for a peanut butter that had less calories, but the actual natural-natural peanut butter (which probably had less) was more expensive, and i couldn’t go over my budget. so instead i compared fat, carbs, sodium, sugar, etc. with the reduced fat jif peanut butter.)
    • greek yogurt (100 cal. per yogurt)
    • 100% whole grain sandwhich rounds
    • apples
    • bananas
    • fat free caramel apple dip
    • no sugar added fudge popsicles (40 cal. per popsicle! :D i tried one yesterday — SO GOODDD.)
    • 100% whole grain pita pockets

    there’s plenty more stuff i got, but i don’t want to bore y’all with all that, haha.

    so anyways, i end up forgetting some important things, like milk and vitamins.

    so my stepdad, who didn’t have to work today, goes to walmart while i’m at cross country practice this morning.

    i open up the pantry to get a 90 cal. fiber one bar after practice and well-needed shower, and guess what i see.

    cookies.

    GOD-DAMN COOKIES.

    AFTER EVERYTHING I’M DOING TO GET THIS FAMILY BACK ON TRACK SO THEY DON’T DIE OF FUCKING DIABETES, OR HEART DISEASE, OR ESPECIALLY, OBESITY, HE GETS GOD-DAMN COOKIES.

    omg, i was so close to picking up that big full box of cookies and trashing it.

    so i’ve vowed something to myself —

    I will manage the grocery shopping for this family.

    whatever comes into this house (food-wise), has to be healthy and low-calorie for it to get past me.

    because it’s not fair for me, the only one in my house making any effort towards a healthy lifestyle, to have to live with junk food and CRAP, when it obviously shouldn’t even be there in the first place!

    okay, i’m done.
